Sync the clock time on your cameras
The majority of wedding photographers use more than one camera at a wedding. Even if you prefer to primarily shoot with only one camera you should always have a back-up camera body with you just in case anything happens to your main camera body.
I personally use two cameras (so I don’t have to spend too much time changing lenses) and have a third DSLR body as a back up – just to be on the safe side!
When downloading photographs to the computer following the wedding I like to view all the photographs from both cameras in the time order in which they were taken – but how do you do this if you’ve been using more than one camera?
The answer is simple – sync up the clock on each of your camera so they each show exactly the same time. Then, when you download the photographs you will be able to sort and view them by “time taken”. I then rename all the files to something like “NAME OF BRIDE AND GROOM wedding photographs – DATE – 001″ and so on.
Although it is always worth checking before each wedding, you should only need to sync up the clocks on your cameras once.
